About the David Goodnight Scholarship
The Goodnight Group is a privately owned company headquartered in Austin, Texas. Founded in 2001, it has grown from energy commodity trading into a diversified enterprise spanning energy, aviation, defense, and real estate.
David Goodnight, founder and Austin native, is a descendant of Charles Goodnight — one of the most influential ranchers and cattlemen in Texas history. This scholarship carries that spirit of excellence forward.
"Academic scholarships are crucial for empowering individuals to realize their educational and professional potential, as well as fostering societal development."
